Between Marrakech and Fez there are plenty of beautiful rivers with incredible scenery, notably the Grand Canyon Assif Ahanezal and the tributary Assif Meloul.
These two rivers run through open valleys where there are Berber villages perched beween limestone cliffs, the landscape is stunning.
The run has some fantastic rapids and includes four nights of camping on the riverbank, the run finishes on the Bin El Oudane Lake, a mountain lake situated amongst a forest of oaks and cedars.

Arrival in Marrakech, the night in town.

Leave hotel at 6am, journey in minibus to Bin El Oudine Lake. Journey in four wheel drive vehicule to Thilouguit, meal in this Berber village and then going to the village of Amergui where we will spend the night.

The day starts by loading up the mules, then a trek, lunch break at the mountain pass and then down to the village of Batteli. Preparation of the equipment and launch on the Assif Ahanezal, first nights camping with a meal prepared by our berber chef, a traditional tagine

Navigation to Thilouguit. The afternoon descent goes through spectacular wooded gorges, there are plenty of excellent rapids which take us through fabulous landscapes to our campsite at the river’s edge: the Attic.

A luxurious lazy day at the amazing Attic site. You can sleep, fish, swim, go for a ride on a mule......... or a days trekking for those who want to discover the Berber landscape (crossing a mountain pass and visiting some of the local curiosities).

The descent takes us through incredible limestone canyons, The gorges get narrower and narrower, only three metres wide at some places. We arrive at the Bin El Ouidane Lake which we cross and then camp on the lake’s edge.

Return to Marrakech during the morning. Fly home that afternoon or the following morning.
